Dr. Wong Mun Yew

Dr. Wong Mun Yew is the Founder & Chairman of the Board of Imagene Labs. He is also an angel investor, and supports a couple of start-ups in Singapore as advisor and mentor. Mun Yew worked more than 10 years in the investment industry. Between 2013 to 2016, he was an Asia Business Development Operating Partner at Formation8 Partners – a successful Silicon Valley technology venture capital fund where his focus was on Singapore and South East Asia. He began his investment career in 2005 with global healthcare private equity fund Bio*One Capital, before becoming Senior Vice President at EDB Investments (EDBI) where he led EDBI’s cleantech investment team. He has served as a director for Codexis Inc. (Nasdaq: CDXS), Amaranth Medical Inc., and was board observer in Fluidigm Corp (Nasdaq: FLDM), Revance Therapeutics (Nasdaq: RVNC) and Innovalight Inc (acquired by DuPont). He also gained experience in business development and operations in healthcare services, and spent time in China as Vice President (International Operations) at Parkway Pantai Limited – a subsidiary of IHH Healthcare Berhad. Prior to investing, Mun Yew practised clinical medicine for 7 years in Singapore. Mun Yew holds a Medical Degree and Diploma in Dermatology from the National University of Singapore.
